What is AmeriCorps?
AmeriCorps is a network of national service programs committed to improving lives and communities across the United States. Established in 1994, AmeriCorps connects individuals with opportunities to serve in critical areas like education, health, disaster response, and environmental stewardship. Members dedicate their time, energy, and skills to create solutions and strengthen the organizations they serve.
At its core, AmeriCorps is about bringing people together to tackle big challenges and create meaningful change. Whether serving for a summer, a year, or more, AmeriCorps members are vital in making their communities more resilient and equitable. By building relationships, fostering collaboration, and offering support where needed most, AmeriCorps helps turn aspirations for a better future into reality.
At the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Louisiana, we are proud to partner with AmeriCorps, a program dedicated to transforming communities through service. Since our collaboration began, AmeriCorps members have made a significant impact on the lives of the children and families we serve. Together, we’re addressing local challenges, empowering young people, and building a brighter future for all.

Be a Part of Something Bigger Than YOURSELF!
Choosing AmeriCorps means choosing to be part of something bigger than yourself. Members have the chance to develop valuable skills like leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and community building. These skills not only enhance personal and professional growth but also prepare members to be lifelong changemakers in their communities and beyond.
AmeriCorps also offers tangible benefits such as a living allowance, healthcare, and an education award to help with college tuition or student loans. However, the greatest reward is the sense of purpose that comes with service. Members form lasting connections, witness the impact of their efforts, and walk away knowing they’ve made a real difference in the lives of others.
