The Taco Bell Foundation recently selected the Northeast Region of the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Louisiana as one of its grant recipients for the 2020-21 school year.

The financial assistance through this grant will enhance academic success and the mentoring programs within our Clubhouse with an emphasis on preparing our teens for life after high school graduation.

Programs such as Power Hour, Keystone Club and Youth of the Year is aligned with developing the needs of all young people in our Northeast Region. Statistics show that 60 percent of the members within our facility are at-risk, and our staff is committed to helping them build better futures through our afterschool programs and summer camps.

The Power Hour program is a tutoring/homework assistance program aimed at improving academic performance in school with a big focus on reading and math.

The Keystone Club is a teen program to develop leadership, soft skills and plans for life after high school graduation. This national program has been tested and proven on a national scale. Teens who participate in Keystone have seen improvements in grades, behavior and conflict resolution.

The Youth of the Year is an annual recognition program aimed at highlighting member achievement and choosing a Club representative for the year.

All programs involve the use of adults as staff, volunteers and/or mentors to serve the youth and set examples, as well as share real life experiences.

Since 1992, the Taco Bell Foundation has reached more than 4 million young people across the country and has awarded more than $95 million in grants and scholarships, focused on education and career readiness.
