NBA Player and Former Club Kid Justin Holiday named recipient of CARES (Children are reason for Excellence) Award

Indiana Pacers guard Justin Holiday recently received the 2020 Louisiana Area Council CARE (Children are reason for Excellence) AWARD during the annual Boys & Girls Clubs of America Area Council Leadership Conference.

This award is given to an individual or business not directly affiliated with a Club organization (not on staff or board of directors) but has provided outstanding in kind or direct support to their local Boys & Girls Club.

Justin is a generous financial supporter of our club and also gives his time as he hosts our basketball camp each year at no charge.

Due to COVID-19, the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Louisiana could not host the annual Holiday Basketball Camp. However, Justin allowed us to send a letter signed by him to all past event and camper sponsors. He also recorded an "ask video" and a "thank you video" — all while competing in the NBA bubble with the Pacers organization and preparing for his daughter to be born!

He championed for our children and we are proud for him to receive the LOUISIANA CARE AWARD! He is a champion on the basketball court and a champion in life.

Thank you to Justin and his wife Shekina for all you do to help open the doors to great futures for our kids!
