Dr. Shepard Golf Classic sees record turnout in 26th year

The 26th Annual Boys & Girls Club Golf Classic had its best turnout since its inception in 1995.

This past Friday, 37 teams participated in the four-man golf scramble at Frenchman’s Bend Golf Course.

In the morning flight, Family Church shot 54 to win the Championship Flight and House Representative Foy Gadberry’s team took home second shooting 55.

The Family Church team was made up of Arvil Ogle, Jerry Lockwood, David Fox and Brent Chappell. Billy Anderson, Richard Anderson and Paul Fryer played with Foy Gadberry on his team.

The First Flight ended in a tie with five teams shooting 59. After a playoff hole, Cross Cuts took home first place and Bob Spatafora, DDS placed second.

The Cross Cuts team was Doug Pederson, Jeannie Pederson, Joel Pederson and Greg Andrews. Damon Bradford, Gary Graham and Bruce Hanks placed with Bob Spatafora on the second-place team.

In the afternoon flight, LA Construction Group shot 51 to win the Championship Flight and the Care Solutions team took home second shooting 57.

The LA Construction Group team was made up of Mark Sutton, William Sparks, Ryan Nelson and Ron Shemwell. Care Solutions was represented by Ryan McHenry, Matt McHenry, Fred Shields and Bob Cooper.

The Assurance Financial team won the First Flight, shooting a 62. Paramount Healthcare placed second with a score of 63.

The Assurance Financial team was made up of Joey Brodtman, BJ Bryan, Richard Criswell and Trey Reese. Paramount Healthcare was represented by Brandon Sullivan, Greg Futch, Chris Gantt and Mike Walsworth.

Closest to the hole winners were as follows: Mark Mashaw (Hole 4), Anthony Jacola (Hole 8), Bob Cooper (Hole 15) and Damon Bradford (Hole 17).
